What are the overall dimensions of the CatGenie?

How do I maintain the CatGenie Self-Washing Cat Box?
The greatest benefit of owning a CatGenie is that it is the only cat box that actually washes and cleans itself. However, even a self-washing cat box is still an appliance and needs a little TLC to keep running its best.

How many times a day should I run the CatGenie?
After helping hundreds of thousands of feline families around the world, we recommend that you run 1-2 CatGenie cleaning cycles per day, per cat. (Example, 1 cat- at least 1-2 times per day, 2 cats- 2-4 times per day, etc) You should run the CatGenie at least once every day even if you don’t see waste in the box. Because liquid waste flows through our Washable Granules, it is possible the box has been used without seeing solid waste.
The best way to keep your CatGenie running clean and error-free is to run a Cleaning Cycle after each use by using Cat Activation mode. Because the waste has not been sitting for any period of time, less SaniSolution is required and the Granules and Bowl come out cleaner. Plus you'll save money by doubling the life span of your SaniSolution Cartridges from 120 to 240 cycles!
Where is the best place to locate a CatGenie?
The best place for a CatGenie depends entirely on the preferences of your cat and your household. A CatGenie unit can be hooked up in any room that has a water supply, drainage and an electric outlet like a Bathroom, Powder room, Laundry Room or Utility Room- which one is best for your home is up to you!
Do cats step into wet Granules?
All CatGenie units completely dry the Granules so cats have a dry litterbox-like area to do their business in comfort. The only exception to this would be if a cat entered the Bowl DURING a Cleaning Cycle- at which point the Cleaning Cycle would immediately pause but the Granules may be wet.
What if my cat has to use the CatGenie while it is washing?
Most cats have no issue finding a non-running CatGenie to use but there may be some trial-and-error. One of the major benefits of using our A.I. unit is that you will get a detailed diary of their visits so you can customize your cleaning preferences specifically for your feline family. What happens if my cat is in the box when a Cleaning Cycle starts?
Built-in sensors, called GenieEyes, know when your cat is using the CatGenie so the cleaning will not start. After your cat leaves the Bowl, your CatGenie waits 5-40 minutes (this delay is customizable on the A.I. model!) before cleaning. In a multi-cat household, this adjustment gives another cat time to come in. The unit will delay the start of the cycle if another cat enters as it was about to clean and waits to allow another cat to use it. CatGenie repeats this delay until no more cats have entered the Bowl.
How can I check for medical problems if all the waste gets flushed away?
If you need access to your cat's waste, you can choose the Manual cleaning modes. Simply get what you need then press Start to clean.

No, the 120 Cartridge is not refillable. How does the CatGenie Whoosh Work?

The Whoosh Super Clumping Cat Litter clumps liquid waste and all solids and clumps get scooped, liquified and flushed away. Can I use any cat litter in the CatGenie Whoosh?
The simple answer is NO.
Use only the CatGenie Whoosh Super Clumping Litter , or the other recommended and plumbing-safe Tofu or Cassava-based litters that we have tested to work with the GenieHand and, also, are 100% water-soluble and biodegradable. Some online tofu or “flushable” litters mix tofu with bentonite (clay) or other non-water soluble or biodegradable substances.
Only specific-sized Tofu can easily be sifted by the CatGenie. If the tofu litter is too large it will not scoop properly and break apart or not scoop at all. Also, other poorly clumping flushable litters (Wheat or Corn) will break apart and not scoop properly. We have effectively tested Soy Sand * Tofu Litter and Sustainably Yours * cassava based litter and both will also work effectively in your CatGenie Whoosh.

What happens if my cat is in the box when a Cleaning Cycle starts?
Built-in sensors, called GenieEyes, know when your cat is using the CatGenie Whoosh so the cleaning will not start. After your cat leaves the Bowl, your CatGenie waits 5-40 minutes (this delay is customizable) before cleaning. In a multi-cat household, this adjustment gives another cat time to come in. The unit will delay the start of the cycle if another cat enters as it was about to clean and waits to allow another cat to use it. CatGenie repeats this delay until no more cats have entered the Bowl.
How can I check for medical problems if all the waste gets flushed away?
If you need access to your cat's waste, you can choose the Manual cleaning modes. Simply get what you need then press Start to clean.
Can kittens use the CatGenie Whoosh?
Kittens over six months old can use the CatGenie, but we do not recommend it for kittens younger than 6 months as their stool is softer than fully grown cats.

How full should I fill the bowl with Whoosh Litter?
Try to keep the litter level between the top line and the bottom line in the CatGenie Bowl.
Tip: best to add litter once it the level is below the crease line in the bowl (see image) Your app has a reminder tool you can set to remind you to add more litter.
How often does the Whoosh Litter need to be replaced?
You should be continully adding Whoosh Litter so the litter should always be fresh. However, over time you will see the need to dump out the litter and clean the bowl and refill. How often depends on the number of cats and if they have loose stool etc. or the bowl gets dirty. We do recommend doing a full cleaning of your CatGenie Whoosh cleaning every 4-6 months. At that time, we would also recommend dumping the litter and cleaning the bowl and refill to the top line.

Machine Washing Soak
The CatGenie Machine Washing Soak uses the power of Citric Acid to clean all the nooks and crannies inside your machine and remove lime and mineral deposits with a gentle but effective soak. When diluted for cleaning, the powder is safe for pets, people and plumbing.
What do you need to do? 1. Deactivate auto settings, and run a regular cycle with a solution cartridge to remove waste and to check if your CatGenie is working properly (or perform after a complete and successful cleaning cycle).
2. Once the regular cycle is completed, remove the processing unit and hopper cover, place the processing unit on a towel on the floor and lean it against the wall.
